About Brianna James
I am a degree-qualified Naturopath and Medical Herbalist, and member of Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA).
I graduated from South Pacific College of Natural Medicine (SPCNM) in 2020, with a Bachelor of Natural Medicine.
Shortly after graduating, I decided to move from New Zealand to Queensland. I made the decision to move for a few reasons; to chase the sun (big fan of the heat), to have an adventure and explore a new country, and to follow my love for naturopathy in a more health and wellness centred environment. And I have recently moved to Adelaide… I am apparently a very big fan of packing all my belongings into boxes often.
Since graduating, I have practiced in a variety of different positions, which has allowed me to develop deep understanding of the human body. I have found a real interest and passion specialising in Women’s Health issues. There are so many women’s health conditions which are overlooked, under diagnosed, and unsupported – this is where I wanted to bridge that gap.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someones wellbeing improve. The way that feeling well can elevate a persons quality of life is the reason why I am so passionate about what I do.
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t enjoy the following:
- I do not enjoy meditation
- I do not enjoy green smoothies
- Prescribing 10+ different supplements. I am a big believer in simple yet effective prescribing.
Some things I do however enjoy are:
- Getting crafty - painting, sewing, puzzles! Anything to stop the scroll of socials.
- Travelling - I have a lengthy bucket list.
- Spending time with loved ones - since moving overseas this is something I treasure.
- Picnics - what’s better than a platter and a view.
My Story
My journey to becoming a Naturopath started in a way similar to a lot of people in the healthcare industry. In an effort to get answers to my health problems, I visited a Naturopath.
As a teenager, I had battled for years with constant fatigue, and severe acne. These health challenges took such a toll on my physical health, and my mental health – and I truly understood how illness can negatively affect your life in so many ways beyond what you can physically see.
After countless appointments, gimmicky health food store supplements, and home remedy’s I booked in to see a Naturopath. I was in awe of how much she listened to me, noting down every small detail around when my health challenges began, what I am eating, what was happening in my life at the time etc. She took the time (and even drew diagrams) to explain to me, why I was experiencing these symptoms. She then put together a treatment plan, that was individualised to my needs.
This was the first time I felt listened to, cared for, and had hope that I would feel ‘well’ again. It was this day that I decided, this is how I want to make other people feel. I want to listen, educate, and empower you to feel ‘well’, however that looks to you.
Getting on top of my health issues
After testing, my Naturopath identified that I had a parasitic infection as well as numerous nutrient deficiencies thanks to multiple rounds of antibiotics and several different oral contraceptive pils.
I learnt about how this parasitic infection and the use of different medications had affected my body as a whole, and contributed to the different symptoms I was experiencing.
I was educated about the importance of diet and how simple it can really be. At the time, I was unknowingly depriving myself of key nutrients that are essential for health.
It was a long road ahead, but one I was motivated to take as I now saw the light at the end of the tunnel. There were answers, a support system, and a reason to make changes. Something I had not experienced before.
Throughout treatment, I began to learn more about my body, I began to feel ‘well’ again, and my quality of life improved.
This is my why. And what led me to the position I am in today.
How I can help you
As a Naturopath, my focus is on delving into what is going on for you, to find the source of the imbalance and achieve optimal health. This is done through a combination of evidence-based herbal medicine, nutrition, supplementation, further testing, and lifestyle advice to bring your body back into balance.
I am motivated to teach my clients why they are experiencing their current health symptoms and what we can do to manage this. It is extremely important to me to give my clients the tools to make their own informed decisions as well as listen and connect with my clients through their journey.
I know how hard health can feel – it can be overwhelming, challenging, and discouraging to feel like you don’t know what next step to take.
I believe that the compassion and empathy I hold due to undergoing similar experiences elevates my care as a practitioner. As your practitioner, I will ensure that I will not give up until we are both satisfied with the end result.
